Green Lake County Jail Overview
Green Lake County Correctional Facility is the only official county detention facility identified for Green Lake County. The Green Lake County Sheriff's Corrections page places jail contact, visitation, bond, phone, mail, money, Huber, community service, property, and check-in instructions in one public location. The operator is the Green Lake County Sheriff's Office. The jail holds local pretrial detainees, sentenced county jail inmates, Huber or Electronic Monitoring Program participants before approval or check-in, people reporting to serve a local sentence, and people held for court or other lawful county custody.
The jail sits in the Green Lake County Government Center and Justice Facility complex, where sheriff administration, corrections, circuit court, clerk of courts, and the district attorney all use the County Road A address. Bond posters and sentenced check-ins are directed to the corrections lobby entrance on the south side of the building. The county does not publish a public online jail roster, but the Sheriff's Office page identifies Corrections Administrator Lori Leahy and links Wisconsin VINE for custody notification.
The official county corrections page shows the local facility procedures that shape Green Lake County jail records and visits.
That county page is the source for capacity, visit windows, bond lobby details, mail limits, and inmate account rules.
Green Lake Facility Capacity
Green Lake County gives 108 beds as the current official capacity for Green Lake County Correctional Facility. The same county page says the facility was completed and operational in July 2010. Construction-era sources use a slightly different count. Wisconsin Public Radio reported on July 9, 2010 that the new justice center would house 150 county workers and 100 inmates, and Samuels Group describes the broader government center as a 158,000 square-foot project with a 100-bed jail. For present use, the county's 108-bed number controls.
Prison Policy Initiative's correctional population table lists Green Lake County Correctional Facility with a local correctional population count of 56 on December 31, 2013. That number is a historical point, not a current head count. No official county average daily population, live population dashboard, annual booking total, average length of stay, or current demographic table was located in the county sources reviewed.
The Prison Policy Initiative correctional populations table lists Green Lake County Correctional Facility among Wisconsin local correctional facilities.
The historical count helps separate an older census-era population snapshot from the county's current published jail capacity.
Look Up Green Lake Inmates
No official Green Lake County online jail roster was found on the county sheriff, corrections, clerk, circuit court, or district attorney pages. Green Lake County Correctional Facility inmate lookup starts with the county jail phone line, then moves through official fallback systems by record type. A county jail record is not the same thing as a court case, a state prison record, or a federal detention record.
- Call Green Lake County Correctional Facility at 920-294-4059 for current county jail custody questions. Have the person's legal name, date of birth if known, arrest date, agency, and case number if known.
- Use Wisconsin VINE or 888-868-4633 for custody status and notification registration. VINE is not a full booking file or mugshot archive.
- Search Wisconsin Circuit Court Access when the arrest has led to a filed court case. WCCA can show charges, hearings, bond entries, dispositions, and sentencing events.
- Use the Wisconsin DOC Offender Locator only after a person has moved into state prison custody or DOC supervision. DOC records do not replace county jail records.
- For federal or immigration custody, check the Federal Bureau of Prisons locator, the U.S. Marshals Eastern District of Wisconsin, or ICE ODLS. No BOP or ICE detention facility was found in Green Lake County.
- For a booking record, incident report, accident report, or booking photo not available online, email sheriff Records and Civil Process at rheiling@greenlakecountywi.gov with the involved person's name, case type, date, and case number if known.
Note: For broader county custody context, the Green Lake County jail inmate records page explains the phone, VINE, WCCA, DOC, and records-request chain.

That list may include up to five adult visitors, while minors must be with a parent or guardian who is on the list.

Huber and Sentence Check-In
Green Lake County's public program detail is strongest for sentenced local inmates. The corrections page says the jail provides the chance to exercise Huber Law privilege through the Electronic Monitoring Program. The 2026 EMP packet says participants may live at a personal residence with a GPS ankle bracelet, and OWI sentences may also require an alcohol monitoring device. Corrections administration reviews eligibility and may terminate participation.
EMP applicants must submit forms, complete a medical release, schedule check-in after sentencing, and show the temporary commitment order. Disqualifiers include felony sex offense conviction, registry placement, felony domestic violence conviction, escape convictions, ES sanction sentences, and failure-to-report-to-jail convictions. Practical requirements include approved residence, full-time employment of at least 32 hours per week, a compatible cellphone, jail debt paid in full, and proof of transportation when driving is part of the schedule.
People ordered to serve a jail term are told to contact corrections administration and set a time according to the judgment of conviction. If they drive, county check-in materials direct them to park near the corrections entrance on the south side. Intake may include drug and alcohol testing. Community service questions go to 920-294-4059 ext. 7, and every 24 hours worked may potentially reduce one day of sentence with court approval.
Records and Transfers
Bond is handled through the jail process when a person is eligible for release. Green Lake County's corrections instructions tell bond posters to arrive at the corrections lobby entrance on the south side of the building and notify corrections staff before making a kiosk bond payment. Bond can change after court hearings, new holds, warrants, or case events, so the jail or court should confirm the current release condition before money is posted.
Public records are separate from live custody. Sheriff's Records and Civil Process handles accident and incident report requests. Requesters are told to email rheiling@greenlakecountywi.gov and include the involved person's name, case type, date, and case number if known. Email responses may be free. If copying or printing is needed, the listed cost is 25 cents per page.
State prison transfers should not be confused with Green Lake County jail housing. A felony sentence can move a person from Green Lake County court and jail custody to Wisconsin DOC reception and then a state prison assignment. The DOC general information page says city and county jails are administered separately from state prisons. A misdemeanor sentence is generally served in county jail for one year or less. The Green Lake County inmate population hub separates county jail, state prison, federal, and immigration custody paths.
Note: Confirm custody, bond status, and visit approval with Green Lake County Correctional Facility before travel or payment.
